Easy to apply![]()
Sumo Tech is a good product that adds fiber to hair and it’s easy to apply. Other fibers like American Crew are very difficult to apply even though I may agree with some of the reviews, that the results are very similar. The advantage of Sumo Tech is that it really stays in the hair and makes it have more body. However, Sumo Tech needs to be applied when the hair still has a good level of moisture or otherwise it’ll be pure torture particularly if you have medium length wavy hair like mine. I don’t think that applying Sumo Tech on dry hair is a wise thing to do since you will be creating a lot of traction causing you hair to break. You’ll end up with a lot of strands in your hands afterwards! The price is high besides the added cost of layering suggested by Bumble & Bumble. This product along with Prep or Tonic Lotions adds to be 50 dollars. Sumo Tech smell is very pleasant and it is indeed a good quality product overall. Let’s not forget, however, that “a great hair cut and Sumo Tech are essential to get a good hair style” as stated by Bumble & Bumble on their website. The difficult part sometimes is, at least in my case, where to get a “great hair cut” that doesn’t cost less than 125.00 like it does in my area (Boston)? I found that great hair cuts are really difficult to obtain sometimes regardless of cost. My suggestion is to long on [...] and have a look at what hair dressers do to cut hair well and then interview your hairstylist to know what she/he will do on you head. Even the occipital bone has to be considered to get proportion and symmetrical cuts. But does everyone pay attention to that in detail as they should?
Not too heavy but holds.![]()
Much better than Sumo Wax, Sumo Tech is softer and less greasy. It holds without being stiff. Just a smidgen of this pulled through short hair gives texture and a light hold with very little weight.
Perfect.
Sumo Tech VS. Crew Fiber![]()
Having used both SumoTech and Crew Fiber, I have concluded that SumoTech
is by far the better product. Besides being a softer touch, SumoTech is
water-soluble and rinses right off your hands, whereas Crew Fiber is
wax/oil-based and really takes a lot of hand-washing to remove.
